ON FIRE WITH BRONZE is a culinary competition in which chef Felipe Bronze is challenged by pitmasters and barbecue specialists, aiming to outperform them in their own signature specialties.
In each episode, Felipe goes head-to-head with a challenger, competing to win over a panel of guests who taste every dish blind and decide which preparation comes out on top.
Felipe is renowned both for his passion for live-fire cooking techniques and for his love of culinary competition.
ON FIRE WITH BRONZE brings these two passions together, placing him in a friendly contest while celebrating the richness, diversity, and regional flavors of Brazilian barbecue.
The challenge is not only about culinary expertise and technical mastery, but also about strategy and resource management. Beyond cooking exceptional food, Felipe and his challengers must design a service strategy, deciding how to allocate their ingredients and resources over a limited period of time. Every decision has consequences. A single outstanding appetizer may impress the guests—but is it enough if the opponent has already served five irresistible starters? Is it better to send several perfectly grilled cuts all at once, or pace the service throughout the competition to keep everyone engaged and satisfied?
To help guide the audience through the action, the show features two lighthearted commentators known as the “Little Embers” (“Brasinhas”). While not necessarily culinary experts, they take on the hosting role whenever Felipe is focused on the grill, explaining the game, interacting with the guests, and playfully teasing the competitors, adding humor and energy to the competition.
More than a cooking showdown, ON FIRE WITH BRONZE serves as a showcase for some of Brazil’s most talented barbecue masters, who share their most celebrated recipes and techniques. Felipe’s competition with each challenger functions as a narrative device that brings remarkable cooks together in an atmosphere defined by humor, camaraderie, and mutual respect.
