RÁ-TIM-BUM ISLAND – THE VULCAN’S HAMMER

Five young people survive a shipwreck and are taken to an unknown island, home to fantastic creatures and a refuge to ancient mysteries.

There, friends Gigante, Micróbio, Rouxinol, Majestade and Raio must face the villain Nefasto, (a human-sized bacteria created by a scientific accident) who with the help of his minions Zabumba (a bee-man) and Polca (a dragonfly-woman), is determined to seize the magical object that will make him nearly invincible: the Vulcan’s Hammer.

“Nefasto finds out that if he locates the hammer, he will become the most powerful being in the universe,” says director Eliana Fonseca. “That’s why the kids must find it before he does, by solving a series of riddles.” The only one who knows the whereabouts of the magical object, the sorceress Hypatia (a 2,000 years old Egyptian witch who serves as the children’s mentor and protector), loses her memory after being struck by an energy blast, forcing the kids to take on the mission themselves.

Besides their special abilities, the young heroes are aided by Solek (a lizard) and Nhã-nhã-nhã (a spider-woman).
